VCS Supports Breast Cancer Awareness
During the month of October, West Australian owned data and electrical services company Vision Cabling Systems (VCS) were the driving force behind some fundraising activities for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and local charity the Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia (BCFWA).
Light, Space and Place, the public art installation on the wall between Perth Underground and Perth Station, usually changes through its sequence every few seconds but has been locked on pink for the month of October in support of the NBCF. Vision Cabling installed the lighting artwork during construction of the station and on Friday 24th October donated their services to change the lights to purple for one day (BFCWA)
Directors Mr Nathan Zinni and Mr Luke Pizzata also supported Administration Manager Julie May who organised two separate collections at the station with purple bands for BCFWA on Friday 24th October and Pink Banks for NBCF on Monday 27th October 2008. Julie and her volunteers, Diane Rae (BCFWA) and Karen Rendell, Cindy Rendell, Chantelle Hampton (NBCF), were warmed by the public’s generosity in support of these two deserving organisations.
Thursday 30th October 2008 marked the Inaugural Vision Cabling Systems Golf Day at the Wembley Golf Course, raising further funds and generating awareness about the importance of research and patient and family support.
Guests were greeted with superb weather and a condition of entry – they had to wear pink Vision Cabling Systems caps – embroidered with PROUDLY SUPPORTING NBFC and BCFWA. The teams also completed in a Trivia Quiz throughout the day. Presentations and dinner were followed by a silent auction which including a Quad Bike, TV’s, Sporting Memorabilia and much more.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation is Australia’s only national not-for-profit foundation established to promote and support research into every aspect of breast cancer. NBFC have funded 168 research projects and provided research equipment in every State and Territory, to a total of $44.5 million.
The Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia provides practical, financial and emotional support to hundreds of Western Australian women, men and their families who have been faced with the challenges of life following the diagnosis of breast cancer.
Vision Cabling would like to acknowledge and thank their guests and supporters, in particular, Electrical Distributors Booragoon, MM Electrical in Balcatta, EIW in Wangara, Pacific Datacom in Perth, Illumination Services WA in Osborne Park, Molex in Melbourne, CNW in Malaga, Artico Hair in Floreat and Superstars and Legends of Morley.
